About FightForRight.net

This website is a collaborative effort to combine many areas of research and study (psychology, success & self-improvement, leadership, persuasion & influence, etc.) into a succinct, simple, and comprehensive source of useful and valuable principles, techniques, information, and resources — in hopes that it will be used both for the general good and profit of all humankind and also in the furthering of specific good causes.

The specific aims of this project are:

  1. To help individuals become self-sufficient and improve in their abilities and desires to effectively and positively contribute to society,
  2. To assist you in furthering the specific good causes that you feel strongly about and are best suited for,
  3. To promote improved culture, attitude (hope and concern for fellow beings), and general enlightenment; to ultimately help make the world a better place.
  4. To make as many tools and resources for the achieval of these ends as available as possible to as many people as possible.

A large part of how this website turns out will depend on you — the contributions you choose to make to society through the tools developed and implemented, and research efforts made here. Because we want it to be wide in scope and widely available, it is an open venture (also using open-source software). This website will represent many volunteer hours by many people, and appreciates the time, and financial and informational contributions and investments made by the good people in the world who share an optimistic and determined vision to do what they can to make it a better place.

By following and helping research the principles, techniques and skills found here, much good and improvement can be done, but it is still far from perfect and complete. It is meant to be a tool by which greater efficiency may be applied to our efforts. Another idea behind this project is that the user can not only find good causes to engage in through the list of opportunities supplied by other users, but can also keep track of their personal projects and causes that they are already working on through the tools available to them in their profile.

In order to be most effective, it is recommended that you register a free account with this website. In your profile you can define your strengths and interests, which may be helped by tests that you can take. This will help determine the ways you can best succeed in contributing to society, and what areas you might best be able to improve in, as well as optimize the learning and research environment to fit with your unique way of thinking. All information will be kept private, and will be used only for the purpose of your personal enlightenment and success. It will not be viewed by nor given to any other parties, unless you select to allow it to be used for anonymous statistical and research purposes. If you do not wish to register an account, you may browse the resources on this website that interest you, although they will not be automatically optimized to suit your profile.

If you wish to make a contribution of time, comments, suggestions, resources, information, or money, please visit the contributions section.

There will also be a list of current needs that you may wish to fill.

Well, that's the idea, at least, of what this website hopes and intends to become!

A Brief Statement on Religion

This website is in no way affiliated with any religious organization, nor does it promote any one faith over another. I understand that the discussion of religious matters, faith, humankind's purpose and potential with relationship to God, or even reference to higher powers or deities can be uncomfortable to some individuals or groups of people. However, the ideas behind this website correlate very closely with my personal religious views and convictions (I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (external link)). Although I do not avoid discussing religion or making reference to it in its appropriate context in the content of this website, I am making efforts to keep my personal views separate from the main portion of the website for the sake of clarity and organization. I seek to use language that is clear and understandable to everyone, so I will not be using a lot of religious phrases or words that I would normally use in discussing principles that also have religious meaning to me. I do not seek to force any of my views on others, but am more than willing to share and discuss them with any who may be interested. If you wish to learn more about how all of this relates to my faith, visit Mormondom.FightForRight.net (external link), or contact me personally.

A Bit About Me and Why I Chose to Create This Website

Jordan
I'm an idealist, an artist, a computer geek, and a liberal arts student majoring in English (with an emphasis on creative writing) at Southern Virginia University (external link). I came up with the idea to create this website while serving as a missionary in upper Florida for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (external link). I feel that the idea was inspired or revealed to me by God, and that this is one of the best ways I can serve God at this time in my life. I am slowly but surely tacking together the different elements of this website. Right now I am primarily a writer, although I spend much of my time in the visual and performing arts, and dabbling in music (mostly acting and singing; I'm not particularly good at playing any instruments, and I'm much too clumsy to dance well — I'm good enough at falling off of things that I might consider being a slapstick comedian, though), as well as a ridiculous amount of time in front of computer screens (which probably accounts for my poor eyesight). I find that the internet and web design are good outlets for most of these interests and abilities. One of my longer-term goals is to become a filmmaker. I've got my head in the clouds, but I think I'm also a pretty practical guy (I may just be flattering myself, but I can't live without a planner). Mostly I just work myself to exhaustion and try to maintain a positive attitude. I love God, I want to do all I can to help the people around me, and I believe that it's only through Christ's infinite grace that I can reach my potential and ultimately achieve the joy of returning to God's presence and continuing to progress with my family and spiritual brothers and sisters. To learn more about me, visit my personal website at JordanJames.FightForRight.net (external link).

My heart goes out to Jordans family and friends , may you all be at peace ..Because I have experienced the death of a very close loved one in my past, I know there is nothing anyone can say to really help the pain of the loss..All we can do is live the best we can one day at a time...I have read many of Jordans writings here on his web site ,and I wish I could have talked to him personally. He was such an intelligent ,thoughtful , young man.. His positive attitude was inspiring ..His wishes to help others to their goals and to help all humanity to become more peaceful and loving , I am sure will be remembered by many ..In Peace and Love , Anne Zerkle-Bechtold-Mullican ..
