Methods of Persuasion

This section focuses on the techniques, methods, and systems of persuading others. These are very powerful tools due simply to their natural subtlety. Everybody is inherently aware of them and understands them, but since they do not generally recognize or use them on a conscious level, they have very little control over how much they are affected by them, or how much they themselves affect others. They can be used for evil just as well as for good. With them, you can subliminally project any image that you want (whether true or not), which has great influence on the emotions and subconscious thoughts of others. Therefore, it is vitally important to both understand them (in order to recognize and fight against their misuse) and to also be very careful and conscientious in their application and use by yourself.

I personally feel that even when fighting for a good end, it is counterproductive and ultimately inexcusable to make use of the more dishonest techniques to manipulate others. It is important to be aware of them and how they work so that you can protect yourself and others from them, but I believe that employing them disqualifies you from God's help (grace). And to have God on your side is the most powerful advantage you can have if you want to do good in the world.
